Winter is Coming

So it is always fun to get out there. Go into the mountains with your dog, a chainsaw and some Tunes. When i am not programming or doing school, or even that when i'm not cooking. i try to keep the homestead operational. with the winter months upon us, me and lil dude went out and hauled some firewood. i am lucky to still be young and have my health and strength. considering what i have already put my body through. just blessings at this point. so this season it was a mixture of pinon, cedar wood, and some pine. was not lucky enough to find oak that was ready. i know of people in my area that saw down oak trees to sell. i don't sell, i use it for me and my family. along with my moms wood pile, i hauled for my aunt as well. basically got a load or two for my uncle and his ceremony hogan as well. this season was just me and lil dude, my mom usually goes with us, but it was a good pinon season as well. while she picked i was sawing down firewood. so this was a good season. overall outcome, we should be ready for the cold months ahead.

its always good thing to get humbled, could easily go out and buy a heater system or such, the idea of going out into the woods and bringing back firewood, just something about it. people sometimes take their electricity and heaters and all that for granted. believe me i'm a techy kind of a guy, so some time away from the screen to get some things done around the house is always fun. a qoute i liked "hard work is good work" believe me i am not afraid of hard work.
